Cool Firefox Themes and Extensions

Post by vskid »

Post your favorite Firefox add-ons here and ask for ones that suit your needs. There are tons of add-ons, so sometimes you can never find the one you are looking for.
Here is one I'm looking for, some way to have instant messenging (yahoo and MSN) in firefox, pretty much integrading Gaim into firefox.
Here are some I like. IE tab, CustomizeGoogle, Full Screen Homestar Runner, Gmail Manager, Forecastfox Enhanced, NoScript, Crash Recovery, and Adblock Plus.

Extensions I have installed:

GreaseMonkey (with a script that replaces the Newgrounds text ad with a download link, and another which adds a download link to YouTube)
FoxyTunes
AdBlock
AdBlock Filterset.G Updater

Themes:
The original one (duh)
One that makes FF look like old-school Netscape

Adblock Plus
All-In-One Sidebar
Archive Search
BugMeNot
CustomizeGoogle
Tab Mix Plus

And then I just customize the heck out of the default theme to make it nice and streamlined.

There is no way to have Yahoo or MSN in FF, although they may be in dev (I haven't seen any). I know there are IRC, Skype, Jabber and AIM extensions, but that is it.

@anotherperson: You can get IE into a tab by using IETab instead. I think it might have been forked from IEView (I remember having the same problem upon update of the extension) but am not sure.

Wikipedia has a nice article on the subject, although it is by no means authoritative.

So could I IM people that are using MSN or Yahoo if I'm using AIM (that Jabber one is for linux, I'm using XP)?

No. They have to be using AIM.

Jabberzilla may work on Windows, although there are conflicting reports to this effect. I do not want to harm the editing I have done to this Firefox build, so I won't install to see, but it may work, depending on what the .so module actually does.

I would just recommend that you use a slimmed down IM client like Miranda or something if you want to use the least space possible. Other than that, I am not aware of any workarounds (unless you can login to an MSN-server through Chatzilla, but I don't know if any such servers exist anymore...).

I have IE!
I don't like firefox. The tabs just seem too invasive. IE works fine for me.

You can always set it to force all links to open in new windows. Or try Tab Killer

IE by default is ridden with bugs. So you will eventually HAVE TO upgrade to IE7, which, by god, USES TABS!

Might as well get used to tabs or getting rid of VISTA: Viruses, Infections, Spyware, Trojans, Adware.

If there was someway to make IE look like FF.. I'd use FF.

Don't you mean FF look like IE? I'm pretty sure I've seen some that do that, I just don't remember them because I don't want FF to look like IE.
