Ooh!
I remember seeing my old 300-in-one kit in a MAKE (either issue one or two). I think they sell it at target now…
Yeah, here: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr ... B00005K86O
…and 500-in-one: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr ... B00008BFZI
The 500 one is very pretty…

hey I have that 300 in one kit! Except mine's charcoal black and I bought it at Rat Shack. I also have a 130 in one kit and some crystal radio thing. (Both have the components with spring terminals for wiring
Hey it works!)
Too bad they don't sell as much of that kind of stuff as they used to.
The closest now in-store is those snap-kit things. Kinda stinks, huh? But according <a href="http://www.radioshack.com/search/index. ... 0kit">they still sell some kit-like things...</a>

Mine too! I can't believe my parents spent that much on it though…bicostp wrote:hey I have that 300 in one kit! Except mine's charcoal black and I bought it at Rat Shack.…
It's because it's cheaper today to buy new electronic devices than fix your old ones. Careers in fixing them are…obsolete. (if your portable DVD player breaks out of warranty, it will not be the job of the person who fixes it to do so)bicostp wrote:…Too bad they don't sell as much of that kind of stuff as they used to.The closest now in-store is those snap-kit things. Yeah those kits were nice. I owned a 200-in-1 and a 60-in-1. The only thing that really got me going with them was the radio transmitter project. Somehting about making a speaker a mic and hearning my voice on a clock-radio was just cool when you're a young kid.
Really now those kits are more useful to us as raw material. Now we build piece by piece on a bread/perf board.
