Powering a Genesis V2...

Can I plug a 12V battery into the genesis V2 and not fry it?

Yes, it uses a 7805 so anything between 7 and like 30v works.

As good 'ol Doc J said, it won't fry; however, some consoles/components don't like certain voltages. For example, the PSOne screen, unmodded, hates 9.6V, and simply won't run off of it. So you won't kill it, but it may not work.

Uh, WRANG. The PSOne screen's fuse blows at above 9v.
