Playstation Performance RFU Adapter won't Adapt

I bought a Performance Playstation RFU adapter at GameStop today, and I tried hooking it up to my AV switch to my TV. For some reason it won't switch when I send a signal through it. I tried my PS2, a PSone, a PSX, my CD player, and my PC-TV box but nothing will work with it.

It will, however, pass cable through without a problem. I disconnected the cable from the back of my TV and hooked the box up in its place.

The odd thing is, it doesn't have a PSX/one/2 AV connector on it. Instead it has a pair of standard RCA connectors (yellow video, white audio) and what appears to be a miniature male mono miniplug. (It looks like a mono headphone plug but a lot smaller.) I haven't seen any information on any that have those wires.

What is the miniplug for, and why won't this thing work? (yes my TV was set to the same channel as the adapter box.) If nobody can figure it out I'll return it and buy another one with a console connector on it and hack it.

EDIT: Maybe that mini headphone plug is for 5v DC? I looked at the PSX inouts and it has a seperate 5v lead...

The miniplug is 5v in. The RFU adapter for my Sony Handycam has the samething, as does the Handycam itself.

That's what I thought it might be.

Does the back of the PSone screen have a minijack like that on the back or something? Neither of my PSones have one, nor do my PSX and PS2.

EDIT: I'm assuming the tip is positive. (I found a 5v wall wart)

I'm going to have to hit Rat Shack tomorrow and get a switch and plugs to fit both the wart's connector and the miniplug. (the miniplug wire looks like it would probably be that cord wire stuff like headphones, which is a bugger to solder to, and I think we still have the thing this adapter goes to so I don't want to screw it up.)
