NES Refurbishing

Hi, I have 3 NES's and I want to sell them on Ebay, but before that I would like to refurbish them and clean them from the inside out. I would like to know what I would have to do, and are there ways to remove the yellowish color it becomes, such as the color of some SNES's. I want to make these systems as like new as I can get them, and I want to do it right and not suddenly have a junk NES due to a bad refurbishing technique. Also, where can I get a cheap Nintendo screw driver to open SNES's. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

That yellow tint is uv damage, and, IIRC, it can't be removed. The only thing you could do for that would be to paint over it.

bleach might work but im not 100% sure

Can anyone verufy if bleach works? I want to make sure before I use it.

If you have a busted case (from a portable or something) or another piece of yellowed plastic you could try bleaching it as a test

I would first clean the contacts of the cartridge edge connectors with alchol, then bend the pins out so they make better contact. You can then move on to washing the case (take out all electronics first though

).

I've tried every cleaning product I can get my hands on and nothing works on the yellowed plastic of a console or game. It's a chemical breakdown of the plastic, not just a dirty surface. At least the famicoms look good in red and "gold".
