alternatives to hip-gear screen

Hi! first time poster, please don't eat my noobish soul...

I have considered making a portable for a while, and if I can get all the parts, i will. I am very fond of g-force's NOAC in a Game Boy case -

I'm thinking that when I make a portable, I want it to be a Super Joy thing in a Game Boy case. I don't mean to rip him off, I just think its an awesome idea and probably my only option for a cheap case that looks good.

But here lies my problem - people who make portables in Game Boy cases or smaller seem to be using the Hip Gear/Intec screen that comes from this screen/controller thing that is no longer made. I looked on ebay and all around the internet, I couldn't find a single one. It seems they are a rare commodity now...

I'm wondering if there are any other 2.5 inch screens like the hip gear that are small enough that I could fit it in the Game Boy case along with all the other necessary guts (like the NOAC itself...).

Any thoughts?

From personal experience, yes there are other screens available, but the Hip Gear/Intec screens tend to come a lot cheaper than similar sized screens. That's why they get used. I too have noticed that they've become pretty rare recently, but keep checking - they pop up every now and then.

and once i saw them on EB.com
