Gamecube LED?

Post by XPCportables »

I am putting leds behind the controller port and I just thought, how much power doesthe main led power light use, as in what voltage, and if it is 5V will it kill 3v leds?

Most LEDs are 2-3v and 10-20mA. Use...

I=V/R
R=V/I
V=IR

Where I=Current (A)
R=Resistance (Ω)
V=Voltage (V)

...to find out what you need to know. Plug in what you know.

right, but you cant just slap the equations on there though, you gotta know what you are doing.

you are going to have an LED in series with a resistor (you need the resistor or it will fry), so you are going to calculate that with V=IR.

in this case, V refers to the voltage across the RESISTOR, not the led. the resistor votlage is your total voltage minus the led voltage. red ones are usually 2.2v, blue and white ones are more
