Picture keeps blinking on Atari Flashback 2

I got an Atari Flashback 2 yesterday, and every five seconds of playing the picture blinks (no picture for one second, then a picture) Which is annyong because more than once i died in pitfall! Turning the thing on and off again dosent help with the problem. Any suggestions?

Clean the cartridge, it might be dirty. I doubt it but you might want to check the Composit In on the TV, it too might be dirty. Try these first, if they don't work come back and tell us.

He got it yesterday. I doubt he modded it yet. However i'm not saying it's not possible nor do I know how too fix this.
