This is probably a dumb question, but I'm looking to build my own portable Genesis based off of a Radica. I haven't bought one yet, and before I buy one, the first thing I wanna know is: Is it possible to get stereo sound out of it? I'd love to be able to wire up a headphone jack and get stereo.
Thanks!
EDIT:
Also, how hard/possible is it to wire up a second-player controller port?

I can always just apply mono to both ends, but back in the day, I'd play my Genesis with the headphones in, and that had stereo. I'm a bit of an audiophile, and can tell the difference between mono and stereo on the Genesis, even when hooked up to a TV. So, for me, it's just that extra little touch of perfection I'd like to be able to have. I mean even the Game Boy had stereo sound! If you can't get stereo sound out of it, it's not too big a deal, but seeing as how the original console had it, I'd very much like to find a way to tap stereo sound out of it. I've never actually seen the SOAP before, is it glop-top type action, or can I possibly wire up the audio directly from the chip?
There is a chip that can split audio signals for Spatial Mono but I don't know if you can just hook it up to a radica. Most of the genesis games don't make use of the full possibility's that Stereo has. They just split some of the channels to the right and some to the left and use that as stereo. Other consoles (like a gba) use it to use 2D effects like in Alttp when a sound travels from one end of the screen to the other. I think the mono sound won't kill you because the genesis has a worthless sound chip (FX aswell as BGM)

Just a thought; if having stereo is so important to you, why not just portablize an actual Genesis, since you haven't even bought a Radica yet? It'd cost probably just as much, plus it already has a cart slot.
As for stereo on the Radica, I don't really think it's possible for more than it's worth. Then again, the Radica is capable of RGB, so it can always suprise.
