Making your own cd jewel cases?

Post by wallydawg »

Remember the old tall-box cd cases that Sega CD and Saturn used (Playstation I suppose as well)? These were very brittle, broke easily, and are probably impossible now to buy replacements.

Anywho my question is this. If you had a vaccuum form table and some strong clear plastic, you could basically create your own jewel cases right? I figure it would probably be more trouble than it's worth and you could buy about 50 copies of an old sports game for a dollar each for replacement cases, but where is the fun in that?

Sword_Gun, my previous statement to you still applies..
For anyone else who doesn't know the shape of the case, they're about the same width as a cd case, about twice as tall, and ~.75" deep

heh, you could always make them out of clear sugar glass. :P Then you could eat them when they break! Sweet! (pun intended)

Yeah the problem with searching for them online (if they even exist anymore to buy) is that I have no idea what they would be called. Maybe if there's a patent number or something to that effect I could search for that.

Even so, if I could buy new ones they'd end up breaking just as easily so that's why I was wondering about making your own. :P

I made some of that one time and we used it to bash my borhter over the head with it when we got into a fight, I think I still have some...

But to be on topic, why do you want to use it anyway? I guess just to sell it?
