Sonic the Hedgehog questions
Okay, I've never played any Sonic game for the Genesis except for Sonic the Hedgehog; what are all the Genesis Sonic games, and which are best? Also, what Sonic games allow you to save?
Thanks,
CTFan

Sonic the Hedgehog 1: The worst one in my opinion. I find myself missing the duck-power-spin thing.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Best one (again this is just my opinion.). Duck/power spin, Tails (runs around after you collecting rings and stuff)
Sonic the Hedgehog 3: Falls in the middle between the previous two. Allows you to save. It's really incomplete without:
Sonic & Knuckles: The rest of Sonic 3. With Sonic 3 locked on you can play through to the S&K levels after you beat Sonic 3. With Sonic 3 locked on you can also save. With sonic 2 locked on you can play through the Sonic 2 levels as Knuckles. This makes some parts easier (because Knuckles can glide and scale walls) but sometimes he makes the game harder (mainly because Knuckles can't jump as high as Sonic.)
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine: A fun puzzle game.
Sonic Spinball: I haven't played this game enough to make a fair judgement.

Sonic the Hedgehog 1: Bleh. Only good for the nostology. No spin-dash, slow reaction, wierd levels - especially Brain Scrap Zone... BLEH. 5/10.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Very good levels, no story. Huge leap from Sonic 1. Great soundtrack, little lag in single player. 8/10
Sonic the Hedgehog 3: Short, but fun. Very good graphics, 2 player, very fun bonus stages. Not quite complete though (lame ending). 8/10.
Sonic & Knuckles: What bic said: The rest of Sonic 3. With Sonic 3 locked on you can play through to the S&K levels after you beat Sonic 3. With Sonic 3 locked on you can also save. With sonic 2 locked on you can play through the Sonic 2 levels as Knuckles. This makes some parts easier (because Knuckles can glide and scale walls) but sometimes he makes the game harder (mainly because Knuckles can't jump as high as Sonic.) Also, near the end of the game (Sonic 3 & Knuckles), you get into the story of Knuckles. At the time I played it, it was before Sonic Adventure, so it was really epic what happens to Knuckles. You'll see. 10/10.
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine: Very Tetris feel. You battle Robotnik's "meanies" in a game of strategy. 7/10.
Sonic Spinball: A bit bleak, but still a fun game, I've never beat it, though I own it. 7/10.

im afraid i must disagree with the majority of you.
Of the four "normal" sonic games released for the genisis-i found the first the best.
To me it was just perfect. The sound the gameplay everything
sonic two was good also
sonic three was fun
but i didnt like sonic and knuckles as much as the others.
I played through and beat them all btw

In Sonic 2, there was a Hidden Palace Zone. Check it out, there is a GameGenie code floating around somewhere.

Uh, the Genesis version came first. The Master System version was ported later on.
Of the Genesis Sonic games, I always liked the first the best. It's funner than the others, and the music is better too. I dont care that it doesnt have spin dash, i can get around just fine without it. It's also the only one of the four that I could beat all the way and get all the chaos emeralds.
Sonic 2 is my second favorite. I didn't like Sonic 3 & Knuckles as much because it was too hard. I still haven't beat it.
