Broken Ribbon connector on psone screen?

Well, the connector that connects the LCD to the pcb on my screen sort of came off. >_> How do I get it back on? but leading from the traces coming from the connector, I see solder points! So, could I use those and sent wires to the ribbon thing coming off?

If you're talking about the little white tab that puts pressure downwards on the ribbon cable, Ben uses hotglue to keep it in. It's in the book somewhere.

I suppose soldering is your only option.

I've resoldered the connection pin back to the board before, and trust me, its a pain in the ass. In fact, I've resoldered it back on twice on the same pcb because I thought I didn't have it soldered on right! It will take a lot of patience and skill, but it is possible.

Why does that guy in the photo take a screw driver to the white clamp? Do you have to do that to make a ps1 screen compatible with like A/V?

Hopefully not..... as I maybe getting a ps1 screen, and I hate doing those types of things...

He is taking the LCD off to do the LED mod. You don't need to take it off, and I just use my fingernails to lift the brown tab from the center.

Ooh okay, Im not doing a LED mod on my 1st Portable.

oh and, Do I have to mod the Ps1 Screen so it takes A/V? (Red, Yellow, White)

Or can it just take A/V when boughten (Meaning I dont have to mod)

There is an A/v port that looks like a headphone jack for a/v in. I used a cable from our video camera to connect it. Search around and you will find a pic of the screen board and where to solder the a/v in for a portable.

ooh I have one of those, I have a transverter, that changes A/V to the headphone. Will that work with it?

The one I have is the same length of a headphone plug and the same except the section furtest from the tip is divided in half to have video, audio l, audio r, and ground (not in any order).

EDIT: I haven't checked what order they are in.

It came with our video camera, so free (kinda).
