I recently purchased a 72-60 pin converter to play NES games on my super joy III. After inserting it different ways it eventually boots the game but here are my problems:
There are vertical lines through the screen (not a whole bunch and not through everything.. its very visible in punchout but very faint in rescue the embassy mission)
While playing punchout it freezes on the running cinema sequence.
I figure it is the adapter itself ( or I hope) Which could be fixed.
I thought it might be the gravity of the adapter+cart hanging off the bottom causing the connection to be poor but I have taken the super joy apart completely and when powered up i still have the same problem.
can anyone help me?
Oh, by the way a little bit of advice. DO NOT BUY THE COLD HEAT SOLDERING IRON IT IS A PIECE OF CRAP AND CAN FRY ELECTRONICS.

lol, another cold heat hater. The masses grow all the time... WELLER FOREVER!
The faint verticle lines, sadly, are probably from the NOAC itself. All mine have had it and there was no way to get rid of them. But if you're just going to use a small screen anyways, you won't notice it anyways (even on big TV it wasn't all that noticable). However if you're using a larger screen (PSone screen or something) then you should prolly go with a Yobo. They don't have the lines and would look fine, but they are bigger than NOAC's.
As for the punchout problem, I have no clue. I haven't played the game myself, although I own it and if it's not too hard to get to that point in the game I could try it on my wired NOAC portable and see if I get the same results. How do you get to that point in the game?
