I need some assistance from my fellow forum members!

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

Now that school's almost out, (keep telling yourself, Josh, just 3 more days) I've finally decided to kick some things into high gear, one of which being the top 100 games countdown! I'm gonna spearhead it, but I may need some assistance. Things I need:

1. A website that'll allow one to set up a mass poll for which only the creator(s) can see the result of, and made private, I.E. only us Benheckers can vote.

2. Write-ups! I was thinking after the voting was done, I would release the games 10 at a time with a short write-up on each, and then have larger articles for the last 10.

3. Minute detail working-out; things like how long should the voting run, how many votes total, etc.

4. What consoles will be allowed? Classic, or all? Also, I'll need a full list of all the games published for each system we list.

Drop me a PM or post here if you wanna help out; I just need a few dedicated people to help do the write-ups (good grammar, please!) and possibly set up the page where the actual poll will be held. After everything is smoothed out, I'll rename the thread and people can start commenting; maybe it can even be stickied  . Again, any ideas/help is welcomed!

Thanks,
CTFan

PS- I'm serious about it this time!

I'd be pleased as punch (POW!) to help do the write-ups. I totally dig old games, and Nintendo games. I seem to be able to say quite a bit about a-them...

I could do a few old ones. (I don't have a whole ton of games for anything newer than Playstation.)

I call Toejam & Earl 2 for the Genesis! :P

Cool! Well, there's two writers that will definitely bring some.....charisma to the project :D ! As for consoles involved, I was thinking N64 and PS1 era and down, because this is meant to be more of a classic thing. And no mundanely stupid systems like Colecovision, Intellivision, Master System, Jaguar, you know what I'm talking about; only systems that actually have something to offer.

Ya, that may be better; I was just worried about people getting mad because their game wasn't on there, y'know?

As for making a poll, how about here: http://www.coolquiz.com/connect/mycoolpoll/start.asp Unless someone who is crazy good at URL or wants to set up an actual site for it would do so then that would be best. Any volunteers?

Sweeeet game. It's what got me hooked on SNES emulation. That and Metal Warriors (another sweeeet game)

Seriously, NHL 94 and Sonic HAVE (HAVE) to be on your list, so I'll write up for those. And NES/Genesis/any Playstation I'm typically good at.

I was thinking; instead of having this done on a poll site, let's do it entirely by PMs. You'll PM me (don't yet, we're not ready!) and I'll tally the votes for a game as they come. Each time a new game is voted for, it'll be added to the list. I'm gonna need a second, b/c I'm going to work out all the consoles that'll be on there. Gimme a minute, I'll post the rules right on this thread and we can start ASAP as soon as I make a new thread to *hopefully* be stickied. Sound good to you guys?

Thanks,
CTFan

PS- I'm sending out PMs right now to people who are helping me do write-ups, so you'll know who you are. Only people who get them are doing it, NO EXCEPTIONS; sorry.

One last problem: Should we do this as just the top 50 games in general, or have a top 10 for each system we post?

CTFan

EDIT: Although I did not PM them, I'm leaving a write-up invitation open to gannon and Ben, simply because........they're gannon and Ben. Plus it'd be cool to hear Ben's insight on his favorite game!

are PC games included, if so i call Starcraft and Command and conquer

top 10 for each would probably be best, its jard to compare things designed for different purposes
