Is there a way of telling one Dual Shock from another?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Is there a way of telling one Dual Shock from another?

Post by Kyosho »

I'm finally getting back to work on my PSOneP. What I need is a PSX Dual Shock controller. But I need a specific model. The kind with the two, normal circuit boards (not the rubbery membrane thing). You know, one board is the main board where you can solder to for all the buttons, and the second board has the analog sticks on it. I must have this specific model. Problem is, I don't know if I have the right one until I open them up.

Is there a way of telling the model of a Dual Shock without taking it apart? I mean, so I can buy the right one from Gamestop?

Yea, check the logo, make sure it doesn't say 'PSONE' and the older one (the one you're speaking of) is darker, not chalky like the new one.
