minty mp3

has anyone here succesfully built lady ada's minty mp3 player? My friends and I are going to try it out. I have all the tools I need at work.

I doubt it, Lady Ada even said the project was only worth it if you were into doing things for the say of doing it (or bragging rights). After you have all the parts and have constructed the MP3 player it will have cost the same as say an iPod Nano would be (now).

Personally if I could do surface mounting I would be more interested, but I don't so I'm not even going to entertain the futile idea.

money isn't an issue. I can't stand ipods so I think I'll continue building the minty mp3 player. I'll actually be putting it in a small metal cigar box.

Oh, I built one. It's pretty basic.

There's a lot of better designs out there (some with LCD's even!). Check out the Mpic3, an Mp3 player that uses a PIC and a decoding chip, pretty cool even though it's poorly documented, and my personal fav, the AVR Butterfly Mp3 which uses the awesome AVR Butterfly and a Mp3 decoding chip. It's probably the easiest of all.

EDIT: Oh yeah, then there's yampp, which looks pretty easy as well.

A gun rack... a gun rack. I don't even own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack. What am I gonna do... with a gun rack?
