PSone Screen sound question

is it possible to add a headphone jack off of the psone screen that will cancel the sound coming out of the speakers when plugged in??? but if unplugged sound will come out of the speakers???

dosent the headphone jack already do that?

they make jacks that contain an internal switch. you want one of those.

sorry, i guess i didn't explain enough, it is already taken apart over a year ago so i don't remeber everything, i have it in a snesp and i am wanting to add a headphone jack cause im going on a trip and dont wanna piss people off.

Sure. They make headphone jacks with automoatic switches in them. But why not just use the orginal headphone jack? That way it's already wired for you.

EDIT: read your new post. Why not just use the info in the screen pinout to hook up a replacement jack? Or even easier, just buy one that even has the cable from someone in the trading post and just plug it in.

im pretty sure i threw it away a while ago. could i use a normal headphone jack or do i have to go buy a different one with a switch??? also do i connect the leads next to the audio in on the psone screen where is says Audio L and Audio R???

well if you want the speakers to turn off you need the switch.

If you want to have a headphone jack that cancels out the unit's own speakers, you're gonna have to buy a jack with a switch. there are other ways to do it with a normal jack, but the built in switch jack will be the easiest and simplest way to go. They are less than a dollar at radioshack. go there and ask for a headphone jack with a built in switch.

thing that I would do... since you gotta remember how quiet the output will be from your nes, so you will need to take the output directly off of the speaker output of your lcd, so you will need to hook the headphone jack up inline with the speaker wires, so where you have the wires to the speakers, you need to find their common ground, (basically you will combine 1 wire going to each speaker, but be careful this must be the ground) so you end up with 3 wires, from there you hook those 3 wires to the input of a switching headphone jack and have the outputs hook back up to your speakers, this way you can continue to use the volume adjustment built into the lcd, you can find the jack at radio shack.

I ran into this while building my L64, I used the original green PSone headphone jack. You only need to connect the headphone jack to ground, HP_L, HPS, and HP_R.

yeah it's an old thread, but i need some help with it. where do you connect those to the headphone jack?
