RPG ARENA: Secret of Mana VS Tales of Phantasia!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, from my other thread, I narrowed my next classic RPG purchase down to these two games; however, I think I only have enough for one. Here are the circumstances:

SoM:
Action RPG
English
32-bit cart
Battle system spawned greats such as the Kingdom Hearts series

ToP:
In Japanese (kanji) so I'd need a translation guide
Linear battle system
64-bit cart
Supposedly the best of it's time in Japan.
