Bad Sound

Post by vgcollector666 »

My NESp has pretty bad sound. Could this be because the PSone speakers are crappy quality?

It could be because the NOAC is of crappy quality ;) Again, check your wiring. Did you ever figure out your video issue?

The video problem was that i fried the board by dropping a ton of molten solder all over it. And my wiring is fine, the sound is the same on both sets of speakers. It sounds decent but it just sounds weird to me.

OK, first you said the sound was bad. Now you're saying it's decent but weird. It's a little difficult to diagnose issues when you're jumping around so much on the description...

Ok heres the problem. The sound sounds good. Just like a nintendo should sound, but everything sounds just....weird...not like its supposed to sound. I think it could be the speakers but I dont know.

OK, here's the problem -- you just contradicted yourself in one sentence:
Just like a nintendo should sound, but everything sounds just....weird...not like its supposed to sound.
I'm not trying to harass you, but I don't see how you can expect anyone to have any useful comments for you.

Don't worry, that's normal for the fact that the quality of the NOAC is pretty curummy, and you're hearing it on a smaller scale, normal first feeeling

Yeah, I'm thinking it could be normal too.
You could try making an MP3 or something of it and putting it up somewhere if you're really concerned.

Do you guys think it could be the speakers? Have you had bad sound coming from PSone Screen Speakers? If i get around to it, I may make an MP3 of it.

It could be distortion, which would stem from the sound being turned up too high.

Not going to go into it now, but magnetic speaker distortion is worse than nails on a chalkboard (to me)…

Well, if you're up to experimenting, then I'd say throw down the extra, what, $1? and go get yourself a better quality speaker. You can see if that helps. Also, a crapload of circuits here: http://www.discovercircuits.com/list.htm

There's BOUND to be one that could help your sound problem if the other ideas don't work. Hope this helps.
