O Jeez, Soldering pros come, help needed.

Ok, so here is the situation: I was working on my sega saturn, everything was going fine, until I screwed up. I somehow managed to totally take off a little PCB pad, and now there isnt anything for my solder to grab on to. What do I do? I mean, the little pcb pad thing is just not there anymore. Help?

I don't know what you mean by PCB pad, do you have any pictures?

Best bet is to trace the pad to a larger spot and solder there. The other way is to scrape the trace so you get to the copper, carefully solder, and then glue or tape it down.

To be exact, it is JP11 (the little pad on the left, not the common point) that is missing now...

Scratch off some of the green stuff further down the trace so you can make your own pad.

To add on, just scrath off ALL the green with a screwdriver until you see PURE shiny copper underneath it all.

Solder should stick to that.

You can see me do this in Soldering 101 class 3, or I go over it again in class 4 (soon to be released).

Then use some lemon juice on it!

Okay! I just scritchered away at the blank spot where the little pad used to be until I hit copper. Now I guess I'll just continue as normal, but without screwing up like last time, correct?

It's always nice to have a clean solder job, but it's nicer not to make mistakes!
