ps2 controller to pc built into case mod!!!

yes today was playing some games on my computer using my ps2 to pc controller convertor and it kept on falling off of the top of my case and nocking all of the cds off of the case. so I decided that since I had a couple of free slots on mu computer that I would just mod it into the inside of the case. I will be posting a how to on my site. enjoy!

I bought one but I did have to do some modding to get everything situated though, I have heard that there is a way to make your own convertor and that it is actually quite easy but I bought this convertor a couple of years ago in my noobish days when I would never dream of actually taking a soldering iron to any electronics no matter how cheap.

i made several Xbox converters...but not Playstation. Does anyone know of a site where i can learn to make my own PS2 to PC adapter?

I always wanted to do that, along with N64/NES/SNES/Gamecube controllers ports too. Yours looksz really great

The psx and ps2 controllers are the same. heres a diagram of the connection to a parallel port:

this is looking into the controller's connector, i think. the +9v is only if you want rumble. (rumble gets set up as some sort of force-feedback device in windows)

you can use a couple different drivers. Direct pad pro, NTpad, psxpad. ive used psxpad, its good if youre in windows xp.

EDIT: Can't i just connect all the wires to one, instead of 4?

i just used random diodes i pulled off an old board.

the way i understand it, the diodes are on the "tx" lines of the paralell port, or something like that. they are data lines at least. anyways, the diodes stop singals from one line from going into any of the ones beside it. using one diode would defeat the purpose of using diodes.

i did a similar thing a couple of months ago with the parrell port controller mod, and the contoller connector from an origional PS1.

i just took the whole controller connector block from the PS1 including the memory card slots and mounted them into a drive bay. if i painted the grey to match the black/dark grey of my system it would look really pimp.

ive thought about having a dedicated emulation system with controller ports ont he front of the case for all the emulated systems, so i can play all the games with thier real controller. but i think it would end up being pretty costly buy two of each system controller plus the usb converters.

i dont have any pictures, but if i manage to find a card reader ill put some up.

does anyone know if a wireless xbox controller can still be usb modded in the usual manner? i dont see any reason why not, and it would lovely to have wireless gameplay.

well, i hope i can find some diodes....but i can live with 4 Xbox controller ports on my PC

I bought the controller boards from someone with a broken xbox and modded it into USB. They're not built into my case tho, theres no way my dad would let me touch this computer

I used 1N 4148 diodes, it worked fine and really really easy

cost like Â£3 to do, and i didnt even have to hack up a controller

i found an extension cable for Â£2 in cutprice

does anyone actually have a dedicated emulation machine theyve modded in some way? as in, not just a pc that plays games, but somthing asphecticlly diffrent or controller ports ect.

id love to get a small mobo and build a nice case.
