Replacing PSONe screen's 7805 with LDO?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

i asked gannon a while back and i think he said it would be better if you just used one DC-DC convertor that could output enough amperage and replaced the 7805s with it then it would ssave more power

I tried doing exactly that with a converter from TI.com . Worked ok, but the screen got all messed up whenever there was audio! Very weird. I don't reccomend trying it.
