led mod problems

I found some leds and done the led mod. I plugged it in to test it out, and the screen wasn't very bright at all. I by passed the little component on the back of the board to make it brighter. It still isn't bright. Is there anything else that I can do to make the screen brighter?

edit: Also my 10 ohm resistor is getting VERY hot. Is there anything that I can do to cool it?

another edit: Now the screen doesn't light at all. I don't know what to do to it now.

I fixed it! YAY
