help with emulation (not roms)

i found a tutorial for playing SNES games on dreamcast and it doesn't mention where to get roms so here it is. it says i'm supposed to have IP.BIN but i just don't have it. the selfboot thing needs IP.BIN to work. could i just download it here and have it work or is it more complex than that?
EDIT: nevermind, i found the IP thing, apperently it's a media file and i just overlooked it
EDIT2: my dreamcast is revision 1 but it doesn't read any of my emulation stuff! GGRRRRRRRR!!! it does read burnt music CDs though so it's not the burnt disk that's the proble,. any suggestions?

DC rev1 units will read music CDs normally, but CD is not the typical data format. You're probably having a problem with the emulator CD because it is burned incorrectly. Dreamcasts use a media called GD-ROM which is a fancy way of saying it's a regular CD that is read backwards at constant spin velocity. Here's a primitive diagram: (Green is data, gold is empty space. Duh.)

You need the data on your CD to look like the image on the left. The Dreamcast begins reading the disc at the outside, and if it doesn't see data there, you will have a problem. The common solution is to create an ISO with empty space at the beginning to push the data to the outside of the disc, over 700MB. Nero can handle that job.

I don't know what diskjuggler is, but I assume it is a Dreamcast CD/GD tool. I don't have a Dreamcast, I only know that if you don't burn your CD ISOs right, the Dreamcast optical drive will fail prematurely. I know how the stuff works, and I know how to fix it, but I do not know how to help you further.

Try consulting the tool's website or documentation.

Diskjuggler works, but I hear a lot of people have troubles with it. I use Alcohol 120% and I've never had problems with it.

Thought I'd ask this question. I tried discJuggler, and frankly I hate it. To compond that with the fact I don't use Windows. So anyone know how I could burn a disc from the outside in or fill the front of the file with a dummy file, under K3B?

Also anyone play any of the vintage system emulators. I'm looking to experiment with ones like Commodore64, Atari computer, and Apple ][. I want to know what emulators you'd suggest, and if they fuction 100%.

There is a tool to convert cdi DiscJuggler images to Nero or ISO.
