Some time ago I acquiret this little item, however I was never able to get it running. And I didn't even try all that hard, not knowing what is what. It was originally a part of a car GPS navigation system. You can check out the photos from the links below. There is only one 16 pin slot on this thing [two thicker pins don't do anything] and I have no idea what is what. The screen model is
VDO Dayton MM 5000 / 01
Does anyone know how can I get this thing to display, let's say RGB singal from a console? It came with a remote by the way. I only have the screen and the remote. No additional cables, no documentation, no schematics. Nothing.
The screen itself

The backside [You can see a speaker]

The pins once more. A bit out of focus.

The model number

That's all. If anyone out there can point me to some documentation on how to connect the damn thing and some description of the pinout, I would greatly appriciate it.

I looked on their site (http://www.vdodayton.com), but couldn't find anything on that specific model. All of the other monitors in that series seem to take in atleast composite in either PAL or NTSC format though. Your best bet is to either try and find a datasheet for it on google or, as marshallh said, open it up and look around.

I couldn't find anything on Dayton's site either. And it does accept composite input, bit it's impossible to trace the pins. On top of that, I was never able to get any reaction from this thing, so I don't even know whether or not it's working. But then again, I don't know a thing about this screen and have no idea how one would turn it on.
