anywho.com. It's run by AT&T, so I should automatically hate it, but that's an entirely different issue. They're actually pretty good for that stuff.

Suggestion - try the AIM lite client or MiniAIM; both are superior to the official ones.

Miniaim.net is all you need.

Pidgin ftw. The official AOL program is terrible, like all AOL software.

Pidgin is what I use! It rock! AIM sucks, though, I can only transfer files if I use the official client. :( Not just the client, the actual AIM software is terrible.

I think I may have found him on anywho. Thanks!

I can transfer files fine using pidgin. :? But no voice/video chat, which made my friend mad, after she got her fancy new laptop with a webcam.

-Person gets on ~Company
"Hello, I would like the telephone number for-Guys name which was on the package" ~You
"One moment please" ~Company
-Connecting the number

I actually tried that. Unfortunately, the number is unlisted on request... Pretty suspicious, if you ask me. I have his phone number on my dead computer, going to try and fix it tomorrow. Thanks for the advice, though!

If everything fails, put the HDD in your working computer or get an enclosure. Get a firewire 400, 800, or eSata one though - USB is painfully bad.

I think that no matter what, you can opt out of having your number listed.
