I patiently describe the process of vacuum-forming but it seems like most people go into a state of denial at this point. They simply refuse to accept that I made the case, for some reason. I mean, it definitely doesn't look professionally made. -Lie
I think it's because denial is their only way of justifying their lack of knowledge and skills. -True
Don't even get me started about the crowd on engadget. The first thing they whine about is "Where's the L button? What about the D-pad?" when they should know only a fraction of games ever used them. Again, it's the only thing about the L64 that they can find trouble with to justify their ignorance. -Of course now, they'll never get it, and its the player's choice whether you want them or not.
But we need to be careful around these people - though they are annoying, you can't treat them with or anger - that's something they already understand. It's better to smile and say "Have a nice day!" - I guess so

i guess to me there are 2 types of people who dont like portables or the idea of making portables they are:
#1: the ones discussed here : OMFG U R LEIR! THAT IS the GHEY SUXXORZ
#2: the ones who dont see the point (you can just emulate) or think its bastardizing classic game consoles, one of my friends argues with me about that occasionally

My friend Harley don't care too much. He just wants to see if I can do it. I might make him a portable gamecube.

If you were in court, You would of prosecuted yourself by now. You just said that smashing a PSP was hte only thing you could do.ShockSlayer wrote:Now I feel bad for the psp. It was the only thing I could do. I am sorry to the psp fans out there.vskid wrote:smashing someones PSP is going way too far. He does bash sometimes, but just with words, not a locker door on a poor, fragile PSP.
My first home console was gamecube, yet I played snes and n64 way before I got it. I wanted an n64 and snes.CronoTriggerfan wrote:Well said. These guys only criticize because we're out of their league. Most of them are also "new" gamers, who all went out and picked up an Xbox as their first console; all the classic gaming forums I post at (Chrono Compendium, TerraEarth, etc.) are all very positive; in fact, I'm even building portables for some of them! And even all the classic emulation nuts acknowledge that an endeavor such as portablizing is honorable and takes at least some level of skill. So I guess I've been pretty lucky; my friends are all very supportive (and some of them have gotten free portables out of it!). Not to mention I've made a few new "friends" by showing off my little mods. I can get near ANYTHING at GameStop at a discounted price now!

I support your portables too!

1. Do nothing
2. Equally, as he did to your SnesP, insult his PSP with words. Point out its faults etc...
3. Not be such a sad idiot.

Sorry about what happened to your topic gamer2. Some people don't know when to quit.
Sorry mods + ben, I should've taken this to you before taking it into my own hands.
Sorry sam fisher, that you can't live in the real world.

That what I tried to do just now.CronoTriggerfan wrote:*Laughs* You sounded like Jeff just then! *Serious face* That's not a good thing. Look, can't you all just grow up and move on? No one needs to have the last word, let's just stay on-topic, damnit!

And games are nice and cheap, no more $50 games, just go to the thrift store!daguuy wrote:back on topic...
the home made portables usually have more/better games. 'nuff said, it's all about the games. and the official portables are usually too small and cramped, i prefer 2 inches of hand space to 1cm.
