how do i get battery onto mobo, and A/V question

holy crap. i just got this whole thing, kinda. let me see if i got this right.
i connect the positive from the batery to the input on the 7805. then i attach the positive out from the 7805 to both the 8v pin and the 3.5v pin? then where does the negitive from the batery go? and what about the a/v, can someone please tell me about that. thanx a gain you guys, i am starting to feel not so stupid for a 13 year old.

Becuse 8 and 3.5 are so different your not going to be able to run the system from the one power regulator, you will most likely have to get a 7805 for the 3.5v. As for the battery negitive, you connect that to the 7808's negitive and the negitive/ground from the system to the bettery's.

I'm not too sure of that 7808 pinout, I've seen a few where ground is the middle pin.

They tell you on the box, either that or us Ben's atari guide(s) as he tells the pinout of the 7805 in the arati 2600.

OK SO IT IS BTERY TO TWO 7805'S and then one to 8 and one to 3.5 the negitive from the batery goes to one of the grounds on the mobo. wht about the other two. and i have seen that pinout, but i want to know what pin on the output corresponds to which pin on the bottom of the mobo. there are 12 solderpoints on the bottom of the mobo and 12 pins, i want to klnow this because i would like to make this still wor as a console, but if it cant be done it cant.

Not two 7805s the bettery will have to be connected to one 7808 and one 7805. The 7808 will regulate the 8v and the 7805 will regulate the 3.5v, you wont get enough voltage out of the 7805 to power the board otherwise.

might the 5 volts on the 3.5 volt line fry the system though?

ya, since the output from the 7805 is +5v, and i only need 3.5, wont that kill something. i am not that stupid. and about the a/v. i already saw that pinout, but which pin in the a/v multiout goes to which pin on the bottom of the mobo. now it is time to go over to raadioshack and buy a battey, 7808 and a 7805? is there 7803.5? thanx again 4 all help, much apprecited

Well if you think 5v will fry it then the only other thing you can use is a dc-dc converter to reduce the power to ~3v. I have looked through RadioShack they dont carry dc-dc converters you'll have to make one from something like a car adapter that out puts 3v, or just buy a dc-dc converter from the internet.

Ok about the pinout thing. The pins are number 1-12 and go from left to right. Counting right; pins 1 and 2 are for right audio, pins 3 and 4 are for left audio, pins 6 and 8 are for video. So you know 1, 3, and 8 are all ground.

i it goes from left to right, but there ar two rows of 6. is the 1st row 1-6 and second 7-12? and thanx for the infor on the batery/7805-7808. i would just like to kow why the 5v wouldnt fry it, because it very well could because it has more yoltage. and how would i get a dc-dc ~3v converter? thanx again

Hook it up like this. For the 8 v reg use www.digikey.com (a good part suplier you'll want to use) part # LM7808CT-ND and for the 3.3v reg use part # LM3940IT-3.3-ND. Believe me digikey is a lot better than a store like radioshack, but they charge a fee if you dont buy "so many" $ worth of stuff, so pick up some other things you'll need. (buttons, caps, resistors, ect.)
