... sigh i knew someone was gonna comment on that. but yeah 6 AA should be able to power that pretty easily and it goes through the Regulator wired correctly ive doubled checked and the polarities are right. any chance you have something helpful to say?

That WAS helpful, or as much as I can give with those pics. Not exactly much we can do with blurry webcam pics.
Have you actually tested the voltage coming off that battery pack? You sure it is putting out 7.2v or higher? (Under load, not just floating)

Excellent

So wait, you'll be putting decals on it? Like will it have a bunch of Rubik's stickers on it? That'll either look really awesome or totally weird.
How fast can you solve one? All the kids I know refer to me as "The kid who can solve a rubik's cube" and I can only do 40 seconds max.

I average 48 seconds but my record is 35. Ok now onto my project info... ok well i think i crossed the regulator wires on accident and i might of fried my SNES... Im getting no more response when i hook up the batteries i only get the tiniest response when i solder on the ground to the regulator... and either my multimeter sucks, its defective so it would still suck, or im just novice at using it and i cant tell crap with it. whats the definitive way to tell if a board is fried...

Very nice, You use the standard method, I'm assuming?gamerjr wrote:I average 48 seconds but my record is 35. Ok now onto my project info... You could plug it back into the wall and see if it runs? Get a new multimeter?

Solder the connection from the power adapter to the mobo directly.

Excellent

Well good news and bad news time... Good news it that my board isnt fried (i think) bad news is that when i plug it in my screen gets the signal and lights up but no sound or video comes out just like before. Any ideas and could it still be fried?

Re: My Super Rutenik's (rubik's cube and SNES) project
Is that a 7805 you have connected? Its hard to tell from the pictures, but It looks like you have the regulated voltage going to where the dc jack was, not where the 7805 was. Try jumoing the in and out pins on the SNES where the 7805 used to be.
Re: My Super Rutenik's (rubik's cube and SNES) project
The first pin on the 7805 it goes to the positive end of the plug the 2nd goes ground on the SNES or the top of where the orignal plug once was. And my negetive end of the plug goes the the ground also... Did i do something wrong?

Re: My Super Rutenik's (rubik's cube and SNES) project
Hard to tell in your pic what wire goes where, but it looks like you have a wire from the battery pack to the board, then a wire, attached to the first, to the middle pin on the 7805 (not the first pin) - I trust this isn't the case and you haven't wired it like that! Pics blurry and not easy to gauge. pin 1 = input voltage, pin 2 = ground, pin 3 = output voltage. Make sure you have the pins connected the right way around. Test away from the board, no point damaging the console mobo for no reason.
Re: My Super Rutenik's (rubik's cube and SNES) project
the 2nd pin on the chip goes to the ground and so does the negative on the power source. everything seems right but of course it isn't.

Well guys since no1 is helping me and confirming possibility of it being fried i have gone to order another SNES mini... if any1 has any ideas please speak now while i can still cancel
WAIT!?!
is it possible its just the 7805 chip thats fried? *hopes*
