What!? I thought the N64 has a thousand better Graphics than the Playstation.

I also think that the Gamecube had better graphics then the Playstation 2 but thats just me.

Well, the N64 had limited texture capabilities (without considerable tweaks and workarounds), and a lot of its games used prerendered sprites in place of 3D models (for example the karts in Mario Kart and the trees in Mario 64), or employed a lot of gourad shading. Both consoles could go up to VGA resolution (640x480). Really its only graphical advantage is its <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trilinear_ ... >trilinear filtering</a>, which helped it scale textures and sprites smoothly. (By contrast, the Playstation and Sega Saturn could only do nearest-neighbor.)

Just look at this screenshot. Mario is gourad shaded and the trees are copies of the same sprite.

Back on the original subject, it's kind of pointless to buy a Playstation when you can get a PS2, which is compatible with most of its predecessor's games and can do full-screen filtering to make them look a bit better.

PS1 by far.

It's got plenty of racers, car combat, RPGs, and everything else. And it has so many games you'll never run out of stuff to play.

I just think that the N64 has more memorable games then the Playstation One.

But i kinda never have been a Playstation/Sony person I've always been a Nintendo guy. The only game i really played a lot on the Playstation was The Legend of Dragoon.

Same here, I've just always found the Playstation and its successors to be lacking, but then I've never liked their controllers, so that might be a reason why. I was mostly for Nintendo until the Xbox came out and it just seemed better for me and the games I like, but the Gamecube is still pretty cool, I'm even thinking of getting one (maybe making a GCp if I have the money).

I actually just realized that. I already have a PS@, so whats the point of getting a PS1? So guess what guys? I think I have made my decision.......

NINTENDO SIXTY FOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUR!!!!!!!

Ok, to save money, time and space (well basically your only saving the first two. What should I start to get for the n64? I have an extra 80 dollars (I used to have 120 but my friend sold me his external hard drive for 40 bucks.) to spend on it, on top of whatever i get for my Dreamcast stuff. Thanks!

Majora's Mask and Donkey Kong 64 if you get an Expansion Pak. I got one for $5 at a flea market.

Basically every game lifeisbetterwithketchup typed but lets not forget Space Station Silicon Valley! :D That game is awesome. If you happen to find it buy it. Also get Rayman 2. And get a memory pak and a rumble pak. Good choice too. N64 forever!

Two more suggestions:

Conker's Bad Fur Day
Resident Evil II

Resident Evil II may not be a must-have if you have the PS or Dreamcast versions, but it's pretty impressive to see all of that FMV on a cartridge, and the in-game graphics are better than the PS version.

OMFG!!!!!!!!! I have got to be the luckiest kid alive!!! I asked my mom to go to a thrift store today to see if they had any n64 stuff. We were both very doubtful that anything was there. But guess what?? There was! I got an n64, all the hook ups Duke Nukem Zero Hour, Nightmare Creatures, Zelda Ocarina of time, Turok 2 Seeds of Evil, Mario Kart 64, Pokemon Stadium, and an n64 transfer pak. I got a n64 steering wheel too.Guess how much all of it was??????? FOURTY FREAKIN DOLLARS!!!!!!!! I had a bunch of birthday money still and I bought it immediately. How big of a quincidance is that???? I am seriously happier then ever!

Nightmare Creatures sucks.

But good find anyways. You could of probably got it for lower than forty bucks but at least you got a glorious Nintendo 64. Now go out and start collecting Nintendo 64 Games!
