Does anyone know if the DC input on the CNC built Atari 2600 portable will work with a standard Atari 2600 adapter? I would hate to fry this thing.

It should but to be sure I would suggest you trace the connection on the standard Atari to see if they go to the same points or similar points on the board to the portable. There shouldn't be much difference between a standard 2600 and a portable, all the important stuff is on the 4x4 square in the middle which is what the portable uses.
