they can be, somewhat less when damaged. shipping to the UK will cost a fair bit i imagine

I can get a working 17" for Â£110, probably cheaper from USA. A broken, significantly less.. It would be worth more if you fixed it yourself. Unless the reason you're selling it is because it's unfixable, in which case I'd like to offer a low price so if I am getting screwed on a broken monitor, I haven't lost much.

VGA is serial.. Classified as DB-25, as in Serial classified as DB-25 and DB-15.

VGA is DB15 with three rows.
Serial RS232 is DB9/DB25 with two rows.

Yep, VGA is a HD DB-15 package while the RS232 standards are DB-9 and DB-25.

Yeah, The two row DB-25 is the game port for old skool joypads.
