ps1 lcd screen general question

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

I can get Sony PSOne Screens, but they are really expensive here, like $80. :x

I'm all alone, dealing with my broken heart. Why I have feelings if they feel so bad. All seems so dark, will I ever see light?

That sucks about the price on the PSone screen in Canada. I did find when I was searching that best deals I found on the Hip gear Screens were from futureshop.ca
I don't know if anyone has posted this (I would be suprised if not) but they are on sale on the website for $30 w/ free shipping, but the offer is only open to canadian residents.... so it is kind of a payback to those who can actually get to a tru that sells the screens...

Yeah, ive seen those before, I never got one because no one had worked with them, and I wasnt sure how good a $30 would be.

The 12th pin on the first slot needs 5v so the screen will turn on. You'll need to solder a wire from the 12th pin to the 5v leg on the 7805 regulator. Image

If you arn't going to hook up a headphone jack you'll need to connect all of the headphone wires together.
You only can hook up composite video to the 2nd slot. It won't work if you connect it to the sync line. I haven't tested the sync out line but I'm pretty sure it's sync out.
I am very sorry to dig up an old thread but I have been looking for an answer for days now. I recently acquired a PSone screen. To my dismay when I plugged the power in, nothing happened, It didn’t turn on. Unfortunately I don't have a PS one to test the screen on. I hope the mod you quoted is the fix. May I ask where the original quote is from? Do you have a link? I would like to read more before potentially ruining my $35 screen...
