GBC LED Modding

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

it's impossible to light a GBC screen without a wormlight, i know this from experience. if you try to backlight it, all you'll see is the light, no colors or anything, just plain washed out white. if you put lights near the edges or corners or something to front light it, the LCD won't reflect the light off the screen back at you, it'll stay dark. it only lights up if you have a light almost directly above it.

I just learned this from experience... Maybe if I increase the intensity of the LCD display...

There are 4 AAs in a gameboy. So 6v.

4 x 1.5 = 6 still, in this modern day and age.

I'm referring to the original gameboy of course, about which we were arguing if a backlight mod is feasible.

Sorry, i'm talking about the GBO.. the gray brick..

for LSDJ i wanted to add a backlight. It is deffinately doable.. it just sucks.
