this is totally a situation where i need to make a wiki page on a topic.
i have explained this like 3 times in different forums, but theres always new people asking. i will be so glad to answer it for the last time.
untill i make a good page (ill tell you when to go look at it), try searching the forums. especially posts i have made with the word "lithium" in them.

EDIT: WILL THIS WORK? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... Track=true It come with two, that equals 2 portables woohoo. But will one power a n64 and for how long?

I see one thing wrong:
If you use a simple DPDT switch for the main power, you should have the charging wires connected to the third set of terminals on the switch (so the battery is connected to the terminals only when the portable is off). If you don't to this, you could a) fry your portable or b) damage the charger. Not using this switch won't hurt--if you (or in particular, others) don't do something stupid, like plug in the charger while the portable is on. I've spent much time designing the electrical system for my own N64p (which might make an appearance this week if I put my self to it) to be idiot-proof so I (or others who don't know it as well) can't hurt it. Truth be told, it takes a little more wiring and a few more switches, but better that than killing it.
