what's the catch on these anyway, is the refresh fast enough? and if they're that easy to make, why don't we all have 120" screens that roll up into a little tube.

i think the best application will be the 3rd world laptop screens..they have had to custom design a new type of screen

I love OLED. My DAH-1500i 1" mp3 player has an oled screen, and it is wicked bright. You can see it in almost any light, and it is wicked wicked thin. It also takes up very little battery life.

My dad got wind of these things even before they came out since he works at Delphi. He told that they will probably replace normal LCD's once they get all the bugs worked out since they are really superior to LCD's. He also said they use something taken from corn (yes, corn) to make the things. I have no idea what that is used for what, but it almost makes me want to try putting corn oil in my printer....you know...it might work....

I'd laugh my ass off if that was really what he meant.

hmmm, lets think, what does the O in OLED stand for, hmmm
maybe ORGANIC. and corn is organic! they probably use some of the chemicals in it.

It's probably still the ethynol in the corn that they use.
