How to turn your Original SNES into a Mini SNES
Could someone post pictures and detailed descriptions of how to make your origional SNES into basically a mini (yes i kno the sound is different and stuff like that) I am talking about size wise. I am building the hand built SNES case just like Ben and my original board won't fit. PLEASE HELP!!!! Ive heard people talk about cutting off stuff and removing this and that but i am a total n00b. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There have been members that said you can slim down the square motherboards by trimming off the metal strips on the sides. Other then that your really stuck with what you have.

Which kind of SNES are you using NTSC or PAL?
Because ive written a (very) crap guide of how to make a regular PAL Snes prtable, havent got as far as the screen yet, (no money)

Progress report: SNES portable using the old 1990 SNES
I decided to go with a GBO design, because the size of the older snes board makes it impossible to make it as "compact" as ben's design, however--if you look at the side view of my machine, you can see that it is very thin!--instead of making the machine as thin as ben's design, I made it an inch thick, and made the box about two inches longer than the board--this gives plenty of room for a lion batter pack to fit between the two speakers!

The metal stripes are hard to miss, you can see them in most of the screenshots already

Not really, if you know that they're on the sides, you can spot them easily.
