I went to my Sisters house today, my brother and law asked me a question, "hey my laptops broken, do you want it? im sure you can use it for a screen for one of your contraptions." Even though i know i cant use a laptop screen for portable so i take it any way couse hell the laptop ws good.

I got it home and fiddled around with the wires and it booted up perfectly.

I got a pretty nice lap top for $nutin.

2.0ghz AMD Athlon, 256mb ram, WinXP

no cd drive but hey, he has games on here with no-cd keys.

That's a pretty great laptop, even for now. Although I am wondering, why is there no CD drive? I suppose you could use always use an external one if needed.

the drive broke off round christmas but there are games loaded on the HDD like battlefield 1942 and few others

My friedn for his birthday got a laptop which was wicked nice, as well as fast, from his uncle, because he makes them at dell, and gets a free one every other month. The thing must have cost at least $2000. My friend didnt seem very greatful though for some reason.

Lucky! Best I got from a friend (or relietive) was a keyboard, which isnt bad (nice and broken in) as its USB and has two usb ports in it. I was hoping that I could get his PIII computer but, as its with another friend I'll have to fight for it to gain possesion.

i also get free laptops from dad when he gets a new one from work. the one i have now is 25mhz, 8mb ram, win3.1

Its true! All of his 3 kids have one, and he gives them away a lot. I dont think he gets payed a lot, so they give him the extra ones. I think what he does is fix the computers, when people return them under waranty.

I got a 700 Mhz one from my dads work. 512 mb of ram and a DVD-RW drive (this is why I really wanted it) for free.
