Ah... Boredom

Post by gannon »

I decided to make a small headphone amp to drive my larger headphones from my ipod shuffle. I used the hipgear screenpad audio IC and a 2xAA battery pack. I should probably add a stereo trim pot, it's pretty loud :P
I'll take some pics when I'm slightly less tired :P

Not quite the same thing but I was fittling with the Xbox Communicator. I know the puck is converting the analoge to digital and to make it work with every computer I just have to remove the Xbox connector and replace it with a USB one.

Now more to the point. I've wanted a USB headset, but all the one I've found online are atleast $30+. So I figured spend the $15 or $20 on a Xbox headset and mod it.

The only draw back to this whole thing is it only offers mono audio.

hey, can you provide the data sheet (or part number) for that audio amp? I've been screwing around with an LM386 from Radioshack but at really high volumes it'll distort (using the psone screen speakers). actually, that might just be my fault, not the amp :P. anyway, perhaps the hip gear amp will be better :)
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

It's the TDA2822M (8 dip), the datasheet has a standard application diagram that's almost exactly what I wired up.

thanks :)....looks like it can provide up to 1W of power :)...I think the LM386 is only 300mW :|
