Wiki mess ups

I was wondering why you can go into any wiki and mess it up, is there some kind of lock? or password you can put on it to edit it?

No, it's a database that ANYONE can edit for a reason.

If someone screws up a page you use the history option (or something) and revert it. Not too hard.
