Actually it sounds more like a matter of time than an impossibility on the PSP.
FAT must have been upgrades. My A+ class had me install Win98 and it used 4GB. Aside from the limitation of the FAT file system, you are not going to find people that will pay the money for a 6GB or 8GB flash ram, not to mention that most memory cards have a 4GB limit, compact flash is I believe over 10GB.

The 4-in-1 doesnt sound bad. If your into using a different flash card type then Memory sticks you can use them. Not to mention that the whole 4GB hard drive thing can be done if all you do is get the 4-in-1 and use a microdrive.

FAT does NOT have a 2GB limit, I have formatted FAT partitions that must have been 40 or 60GB before. It really depends on the Operating System (DOS can't handle much, IIRC) and the BIOS (I had a Compaq that couldn't read more than the first 5GB or so of my 40GB hard drive in the BIOS, though Windows 2000 somehow worked through that)

Thinking back on that I think FAT32 has a limit of 128GB. FAT16 which a lot of Flash based devices use I think is limited to 4GB (I could be off) dont know for sure not a big FAT16 person.

It would be nice if Sony had built into the software the ablity to read other FS. I'd like ext2(or3), riser or BSD's. Course if Sony doesnt like their customers that will never happen.

I'm a big FAT person, but that has nothing to do with partitions. :P

(Maybe a bit to do with using my computers, but I won't admit it!)

People on the PSP boards have been saying that the 4 Gig HD is prone to skipping, sometimes making music and Videos unwatchable. Now I don't have one so I can tell you weather it's true or not im just passing on information.

Personaly if I had a choise between 2 2 gig memory sticks and a 4 gig drive id take the 2 memory sticks, My psp dosn't get masive and it's got the same ammount of data, and seriously, whos gonna put a file on their PSP with more than 2 gigs of data

The fact that you're HOLDING the HDD as you're playing, can cause some weird issues :?
