PSP: Datel 4gb hard drive vs Neo flash Team's PSP 4 in 1

Ahem, here we have the Datel 4gb hard drive for the psp
and here we have neo flash teams unfinished psp 4 in 1 memory reader



personally I like the Datel one, but that was changed in a short time, becuase I originally thought that the neo flash team way was the way to go, but, I soon discovered that the psp 4 in 1 was 99 bucks, but any 4 gb* memory is over 100 dollars, so i did the math and found that it would be cheaper, if I bought the datel hard drive, also becuae the datel one comes with the x2 battery and that is in the price, but that's just me, what do you think?

* 4gb is the highest amount of memory that is seen by the psp

if by 1000 bux, you mean 200 bux. Anyway, I think that the Datel HD is better because its from a brand that I actually trust. Also, its probably a warranty void to use the NEO Flash thingy because its probably not licenced by Sony.

if you have a friend w/ a broken ipod(i do ) buy it and take the 20gig MD reformat it w/ your pc and you get a true giga pack psp

It has been mentioned already that the PSP can only see up to 4GB, Kade, so how would you choose the one that can hold more?

Please take note that the standard Ipods use a 1.8" hard drive, not a compactflash microdrive.

Personally, I would go with that sleek Datel one with the battery enhancement, because it's...well....better, and it isn't freakin gigantic

Ok, need I repeat myself? Must I really go through all the trouble to make you understand? For BOTH of these items, the PSP will only read 4GB at a time. According to FDSMAN, 4GB is the maximum capacity for PSP storage as determined by the hardware itself.

perhaps it can be partitioned. or perhaps one of these firmware hacks will fix that limitation.

either way, why bother? does the PSP need to get any bulkier? It's got it's own memstick slot already. and it seems to come in somewhat usable sizes, so why bother adding to the brick? That said, the neoflash seems to be the way to go, but why don't they just combine it with a TVout to make a portable that can turn into a useful console. I like the extra bulk a lot more when it's in a docking station.

The PSP uses FAT file formatting system, which only allows 4GB of space, seeing as how Sony hates their customers (you think I'm joking? The funny this is...I'm not), they wouldnt do anything to give us more space for stuff they dont want us playing.

I always thought fat had a 2GB limit. Anyway, I remember having trouble with this one on a long gone PC. All it took was partitioning, and firmware that could handle it.

Actually it sounds more like a matter of time than an impossibility on the PSP.

I dont know, I remember seeing (on the 4-in-1 memory thing's site) that the PSP was FAT formatted. Maybe they were wrong.

I made this thread so people would know about it, also the psp 4 in one only ads more bulk, a lot more then the datel hdd and x2 battery, and I was saying it is a reasonable price becuase it comes with the battery, 199 is the price with the battery, and the psp 4 in 1 doesn't come with a battery, so you make the choice
