Bootable Usb Pen drive

Can you boot linux off any old usb pen drive(if it has enough space)?

yes, although a 1.1 may be slow.

The thing is, I found a 2 gig pen drive. I think I will try to boot ubuntu on the school computers.

It'll only work if the bios is set up in a way that puts usb drives ahead of booting off the hard disk/cd. It might work, but you might need acess to the bios.

Most BIOS that support Plug and Play should support USB booting.

Most pen drives, if not all are USB 2.0. They're only backwards compatiable with USB 1.1.

it rocks
accept i dont think it has gaim or anything
so thats a bummer

dsl doesn't run on powerpc, so I will use ubuntu
