I just ordered my book and am kinda a noob here, but if you could tell me if Ben includes instructions for the old snes or just the new one. If not, then what modifications do i need to do to my old one so that this will work!!Also, what in your opinion is the easiest portable to start out with?Is this a good choice?
Thank you Very MUCH!!!!

Only the new one and you don't need to make any more than the book says its the same thing just bigger. Acually there is one difference the old snes has a large metal box that makes it big but you cna remove that...

Actually, as a personal preference, I like the older 1992 model better because it is:
Everywhere(dirt cheap)
Is better than the 1991 model (just one main board)
has all the video format outputs and stereo audio.
hackable to be made 1.5 inches shorter across the width
The smaller SNES's are expensive to get, and are more fragile
The smaller SNES's only output composite video and mono sound
But then again, the mini-SNES's are better on power consumption.
It's your call, man.

maybe the ones you found, my mini SNES board took a few, beatings lets say, and it works 100%. And only outputs mono???, how do you think Ben(and many others, like myself) got a mini SNES to work with a PS1 screen that only does stereo. It outputs both(you just have to know where to lookSNESguy wrote: The smaller SNES's are expensive to get, and are more fragile

SNESp - 100%
Protable X - 15% - I need money

Yes they only output mono sound out of the AV connector.
The true stereo can be obtained by getting it off a small chip right next to the connector.
I didn't say it was impossible to get stereo, just that you have to hack it to do so.
It also has to be hacked in order to get RGB and S-Video.
