Half-Life on Dreamcast?

Post by HomicidalBarber »

I have seen pictures and heard about an unreleased version of Half-Life for Sega Dreamcast. Does anyone know about that? I have lately been trying homebrew games and other apps on my dreamcast for fun and I was curious. Thanks

It was scheduled to be released, but during production it was cancelled, for valve/gearbox (I don't know which company was making the DC verstion) saw a flaw in the DC (we all know the DC unfortunately failed) marketing thing, and just while at it. I don't know if there is a homebrew version of HL though :)

Yeah the dreamcast pretty much failed, however I may have just found a ported version, I am burning it now.

Cant you optain the source and so compile it to work for a SH-4 cpu and be compatible with Windows CE (if you dont use DC linux, or the Dreamcast port NetBSD)? I know its more detailed then that (esspesally considering you'd be using a controller).

Dude, I found the actual one that wasnt released...Im still trying to figure out why not? I mean, dreamcast was tons better than PSone and N64. Load times are a bit awful.

Yeah but if it was planned for release near or after 2000, no going to happen. The PS2 came out and pretty much put the final nail in the Dreamcast, well profitable marketing anyways.

Wasn't the story something like a copy was leaked and it had some bugs but it was still playable?
