broken SP screen.
The screen on one of my blue SP's is broken. Totally smashed inside the lcd. Any way to fix for less then the nintendo $55 fee? Original SP.
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

No, it would require a pen and a match, though...

What I'd do is buy a "broken" SP from Gamestop or eBay and switch out the entire scren assembly (both the case and the screen) to make a two-tone custom SP. (It certainly would set yours apart from the others!
)
If it were the original GBA then I'd advise you to get the video output adapter and a PSone screen to make a GBA Somewhat-less portable like the one on PoD.

Pull a Wal-Mart switch:

I don't know if all Wal-Marts are the same, but at ours, you go to the electronics department and they sign your receipt to say that you can return it, then you go to customer service, and they just check the bill and make the return. The trick is to show the new one to electronics, then switch the warantee tags, and return the broken one with the new unit's tag on it. They check the tag(usually through a hole in the box), and give you the money. I've found that this works best if the customer service person is an older woman, who generally doesn't know what the unit should look like. Also, go when the store is more busy, because that gives you reason for the time between visiting electronics, and going to customer service, when you change the tags. If you change the tag before going to electronics, you have to show them the broken one(because it has the serial number that's on the receipt), so they'll notice any scratches.
