I've added a bunch of stuff including a Sega Nomad Repair guide, a detailed Sega CDX FAQ, and Genesis controller info.

I'm going to add a lot more updates but I'd like to know what people want me to post. I was thinking of putting up a full-out page on how to make your own CDX Ultima, but I don't want to do the work if no one is interested. I'm also thinking of posting Saturn controller information (which I will likely do very soon) and a page on how to properly open up that devil PSOne screen (damn you Sony). I can also post information on how to portablize other consoles like N64, Saturn, and the new PS2. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I've already started building a portable Saturn It's going to use the original case so it's kind of large, but I took out that heavy ass heat sink inside it so it'e very light. It's nice to have all the extra space to work with too, it's going to have rechargeable Li-poly batteries built in with a 2 hour+ battery life (which is a lot considering it sucks 5V at 3A).

What are you doing about that weird set of voltages it requires?

The model 2 is the one with the weird set of voltages. (9v, 3.3v, and 5v if I recall correctly). The model 1 only takes 5v at 5amps. I'm probably not going to replace the heatsink because i just don't think it's that necessary...it's not connected to a single IC, only to ground. I'll think about it thoug...

Any chance you could take a look at the new GOAC (Genesis On A Chip)Sega systems from Radica and see if it's possible to attach a connector so you can use real carts on it? At about 10x15cm it should be ideal for portablisation, it's only £20 too ($30) so it's pretty cheap, here's the relevent thread with links to some tech docs/cart pinouts I found:

I was thinking about doing that. If it has the main sega CPU it is probably possible, problem is that really heads over to the software department where I'm not too knowledgeable...

If he's right about the memory board being the porper place to connect everything I can do the soldering of the 44 pins myself no problem. However, I highly doubt connect a cartridge is going to be that simple and I just don't have the $30 to invest in another portable project right now since I just spent $150 to make my new portable PS2.

I'm pretty sure that genesis carts have more than one chip pnthem too. Not just the game rom.
