The NES connector made from floppy connectors was sheer brilliance! in fact the whole thing was genius.
(Micro simulated as there's no way I'd buy one of those things)
*sigh of relief* You had me worried there! :P
When the batteries get weak (like 5 volts total) the screen gets a little dimmer but still fine. Because of this normal alkalines, rather than rechargeables, are best.
I had this same trouble (except it was BAD) with my NES p0cket. I ended up replacing the 4 AA holder with a 5 AAA holder (just did that today in fact!)

Just one thing I would really like to see, how big is it compared to a GBO?

awesome...a sneak peek! I feel spoiled. The placement of the cartridge was a great thought, it doesn't even look like it would be in the way!

This is kind of off subject, but still within the spirit of Ben praising. I took my copy of Hacking Videogame Consoles to school for a little extra bit of reading while most of my friends were taking the PLAN (Pre-ACT) test without me, and as such I was going to have an hour and a half of doing nothing in math class. Anyways, I was reading up on the SNES chapter, making sure I knew how to do everything when one of my friends came over and asked about it. I took him through the book for the next hour or so, with him drooling over each picture of Ben's portables. He even claimed he was so inspired that he was going to go out and buy the book as well. My point? Ben is the king of portablizing, no questions about it.

Back on topic...I love the writeup of the making of the system. I really like the design of your D-pad as well. I can't get over how close in comparison it is size-wise to the GBM! Its also just as sexy.

Thats awesome I knew it could be done, I have been trying to squeeze one inside of an original NES controller (I've lots of PMs to people to keep it on the DL). While that is not as small as I had hoped you could make one it is awesome. I would definitely buy one. That is the coolest Nintendo portable ever.

I bet Ben wears a Kubiro Shoe.

As for mass-production, if you do decide to do so (as I and many other members hope so), you can get the Yobo US Famiclone for $20.96 if you buy 10 or more units. No need to wire the cartrage port either; these units have a 72 pin cart. :D

eStarland sure is a weird site though, their prices seem a bit high on everything except on this famiclone (at least the cheapest I've seen it, besides the eBay).

Top-Notch amazing work, as always.

So beautiful that my mother even wants one. That in itself is an acomplishment beyond all. If you mass produce I WILL BUY IT!!!
