They want me to bring it for the show, but the button contacts long ago oxydized and don't work. So I retro-fitted it with tact switches.

I let as much (that is, ALL) of the original wiring intact. My God, what a mess! Truly shocking to look at, especially with my new NES around. All you future portable-lizers, thinking I'm way out of your league, just feast your eyes on THIS:

Holy moley! 5.25" floppy drive cable cart slot, more than the 4x4" Atari board, older Casio screen...

Aah the memories... ah the horror compared to your current designs...

Well at least the soldering is cleaner than most of mine!

And hey, it worked, didn't it?

(I forget, what did you use for the original control switches? NES pads? *runs off to check "making of the VCSp" page*

Yeah that looks like my atari, only Mine isint alive. (At least I think so, Im waiting to buy a board from gannon when theyre all done and plop my chips in.)

It's small potatoes compared to my n64p in progress... It'll be a miracle if it ever closes!
It's amazing how far Ben's come since the first 2600p. If it's taken Ben 5 years to improve his wiring to something manageable, just think how long it will take for me to stop making insane wiring messes...

Hey I just thought of something...

It's been about 5 years since you made that, right?

You should commemerate the event by making VCSp keychains!

Seriously, just carve a miniature VCSp (or get someone to do it

) and make a mold from it, then make about 20 molds and fill them with resin plastic perhaps! Fundraising!

Wowzers. Kinda twisted around in there... I think keeping the wire organized in a portable is one of the most annoying parts of making one. I know the wiring was really a pain on my NES p0cket

heh, you should've taken some good looks at my original GCp.....it was like HELL in there!!!.....if hell was, in fact, a whole mess of wires.....and electrical tape

...

anyway, for the FIRST EVER CUSTOM PORTABLE!!!.....that was pretty good

thats nothing mine is usually a mess of twisted wire ends, electrical tape, hot glue and wires up the wazoo! lol
