because when something's crammed into a tiny gamegear it looks better and is more compact than if you cram it into something bigger and uglier :P

You would also need to cut down the battery compartment as well in order to really get the MB to fit. If I can get another GameGear console, I'll check it out and give you a good idea what you are up against.

I'll PM ben regarding the cart slot. Thanks!

I wired up everything and triple checked all my connections. I cleaned the game I have, and cleaned the cart slot as well. When I turn on the game, the radica screen comes up, but freezes afterwards on the radica screen. I take the game out, turn it on, the built in games starts up.

Do I have to disable the built in games in order to use the cart slot? If so, what am i jumpping/cutting to disable them? Is there a trace I can cut to stop power going to it, and which one is it?

Wait, so how did you solder in the cart, pics of the soldering, including under side could help. :P

100% complete on the slot.

Took about 2.5hrs to complete this sucker...I wish it was working though and I wish ben would read this topic too so he can point out what is wrong and which one should be cut

You are going to smack yourself once you find out....ready???

From the Hip Gear!!! I cut the wire from the cord and boom...MORE wire!!! =) And yes, this wire holds up, IMO, a LOT better than ribbon cable. Ribbon cable is too flimsey for me...but the HipGear one...its a lot easier to control especially when soldering.

Controller wire is great, and you can get a lot of it (3X Psone controllers, 2X NES controllers for me) from one project. This portable looks good, and I can't wait to see it done. How close are you on the SNES?
